A Powerful Voice Command Interface With Little Or No Voice Training Required AIVMS has been developed using a software paradigm that enables voice command without the speaker training typically required for voice recognition. By implementing levels at which only certain commands will be accepted as valid, command rejection is also not an issue. Full Microphone sensitivity adjustment allows voice commands to be issued even in noisy environments.
Comprehensive External Hardware Support AIVMS includes external support for hardware such as the Phidgets 0/0/4 external relay control. AIVMS can control several popular GPS navigation software packages with it's powerful voice command system. Here is a screen shot of an AIVMS external relay panel display. Each relay can be toggled on or off using voice command, AI conversation interface, AIVMS Client software, a desktop shortcut, an AIVMS automation task, or a mouse click / screen touch. The AIVMS Home Module add-in enables complete AIVMS voice command control of your home lighting and appliances. Simply add a home automation hardware kit to your PC, install the AIVMS Home Module, and nearly any powered device can be controlled by voice command or remotely over the Internet or a home network. Each hardware kit comes with modules to control two separate powered devices, and each kit can actually control up to 16 devices just by adding some additional modules to extend your system. A total of 256 devices can be controlled with the AIVMS Home Control Interface! A very nice feature of the X10 control module is that dimming capability is provided for lighting that had no dimming capability before. The AIVMS PDA Client enables full control of AIVMS using your mobile handheld device, and the AIVMS PC Client provides full network control from any windows PC, so you also have a very powerful WiFi home automation remote system that can control your home lighting and appliances from anywhere in the world or from just another room in the house. The AIVMS Home Module interfaces with AIVMS Tasks, so there is a wide range of events that can trigger Home automation actions (IR remotes, time, temperature, keyboard and mouse buttons, or voice commands, and AIVMS desktop action shortcuts can control your entire home automation system). For example, a window or attic exhaust fan can be triggered ON when the outside temperature exceeds a certain value, and OFF at a lower temperature. (no special hardware is required as AIVMS obtains its outdoor temperature data from the internet). The cost of energy is rising rapidly with no end in site and home automation can pay for itself in a very short time.
Each relay can be toggled on or off using voice command, AI conversation interface, AIVMS Client software, a desktop shortcut, an AIVMS automation task, or a mouse click / screen touch.

The AIVMS infrared control module turns your AIVMS system into a universal learning remote control. The module currently supports usb-uirt hardware with v1.4 driver installed. Seamlessly integrates with the AIVMS task system. Remap " any" infrared remote to control equipment and software it was never designed for. Simply add an event, press a button on your remote control to learn the button, and specify the action to take place when the button is pressed. The actions you specify for an IR event can command HD RadioPC, AIVMS Home Automation, External Phidgets Relays, AIVMS Macros and PC activities such as mouse cursor and button control, and ANY multimedia application such as Winamp, WMP, etc..
Setting remote control up is simple. For example, the PLAY command will start playback no matter what media playback software you are currently using, so you simply map an IR remote control button of your choice to "CMD PLAY" using AIVMS tasks. Most remotes that come with cable and sat boxes have an AUX device which you can use for PC control purposes, and the Casio IR remote control digital watch is an excellent solution.
AIVMS includes multimedia control definitions for :
WinAmp
Windows Media Player 11 (XP / Vista)
Media Player Classic Home Cinema
PowerDVD 8 Ultra

You can easily add any of your own multimedia applications to this list.
Create desktop action shortcuts that send IR signals and home automation commands. AIVMS works intuitively, the same way you use your computer now; rather than condemning you to a cumbersome front end, you simply select a folder where you have saved some AIVMS action shortcuts. A simple click on an AIVMS desktop shortcut is all you'll ever need for full control of your home automation and AV system. Anyone familiar with the windows desktop now has the power to control everything from an entire AV system to the lighting of a whole house simply by clicking a desktop shortcut with their mouse, a zero learning curve for family members. Microsoft Windows operating systems support the use of multiple simultaneous mouse control, so you can attach several inexpensive wireless mice to one PC. Fighting over the remote control is now a thing of the past. You can map an AIVMS desktop shortcut to any IR remote control button or any keyboard key.
Control your AV system with any multi-button mouse easily by mapping IR signals to mouse buttons with AIVMS; FULL control of AV components using nothing but your mouse buttons. Navigate a device menu like your HDTV display settings with your mouse right from your HTPC desktop, just as if they were another Windows application. Click on an AIVMS desktop shortcut to switch your display input to a component like your DVD player or cable/sat box, and your mouse buttons automatically assume the task of IR remote control for that device. You can switch favorite channels, play, pause, rewind, skip commercials, navigate menu's, etc., using nothing but your mouse buttons. Once you have experienced just how natural using your mouse to control your AV system is, you will likely never pick up a handheld remote control again.
AIVMS TitanTV integration enables one click viewing for any display or component with a TV tuner, and one click recording using any DVR capable cable TV or satellite TV set top box. If you have ever used a PC tuner card that integrates with TitanTV, you can surely appreciate the control that TitanTV integration with your cable box or your display's TV tuner will provide. You simply click on a TitanTV listing grid "watch now" icon, the channel IR signal is sent, and your display's input is switched to that used by your HDTV's tuner or your cable/sat box. Your mouse can then automatically become the IR remote control for that device.

If AIVMS happens to lack internal knowledge of a particular concept, it will simply extend on its existing knowledge base through internet information acquisition. AIVMS is one of the only AI systems in existence that can enhance its own intelligence using the vast amount of data available on the internet. AIVMS IIA will automatically use your supported GPS system to determine your current location, so weather and traffic reports are always relevant no matter where you may travel. AIVMS voice announced
Traffic report information is updated every 5 minutes when the traffic report feature is activated. An AIVMS traffic report can consist of route travel times and average speed in addition to accident, jams, and construction incidents. Reports occur between songs unless new incidents are indicated on your route analysis. If there are severe issues along the route, the report will typically include alternative routes to avoid delays. AIVMS currently supports traffic reporting for the following metropolitan areas:
