HD RadioPCRadioPC  AIVMS Features

  •  One Of The Most Advanced Artificial Intelligence Entities In The World

The AIVMS artificial intelligence engine has internal knowledge of over 60,000 concepts!  It's knowledge base extends to near infinity though intelligent internet information access. The AIVMS artificial intelligence has been given a distinct look and personality along with its powerful control capabilities.  Two-way voice conversation with an artificial intelligence is no longer just an idea, it is a reality.  AIVMS is a perfect system management solution for HTPC's, CarPC's, and home or office PC's.  You can easily extend AIVMS capability to provide intelligent control of audio video hardware and home automation systems.

AIVMS knows what your system is capable of, and can monitor your computers operating conditions automatically when the Internal Systems Monitor Module has been installed.  If a dangerous condition is detected, AIVMS will vocally announce what is happening and even shut your system down if required.
It's voltage self-monitoring system provides convenient automatic shut down controller functionality for in-vehicle hardware applications.
If the Alert feature has been set, AIVMS will email the user announcing critical system conditions such as intrusion attempts, security alarm system triggers, exceeded sensor value thresholds, etc..

The presence of an internet connection is automatically detected, and operations are conducted without hampering your internet activity.

AIVMS resides in your system tray, and can be entirely hidden from the desktop if desired.

A Powerful Voice Command Interface With Little Or No Voice Training Required

AIVMS has been developed using a software paradigm that enables voice command without the speaker training typically required for voice recognition.  By implementing levels at which only certain commands will be accepted as valid, command rejection is also not an issue.  Full Microphone sensitivity adjustment allows voice commands to be issued even in noisy environments.

  •   Comprehensive External Hardware Support

AIVMS includes external support for hardware such as the Phidgets 0/0/4 external relay control AIVMS can control several popular GPS navigation software packages with it's powerful voice command system.  Here is a screen shot of an AIVMS external relay panel display.

Each relay can be toggled on or off using voice command, AI conversation interface, AIVMS Client software, a desktop shortcut, an AIVMS automation task, or a mouse click / screen touch.

The AIVMS Home Module add-in enables complete AIVMS voice command control of your home lighting and appliances.

AIVMS X10 ActiveHome Desktop Interface Display

Simply add a home automation hardware kit to your PC, install the AIVMS Home Module, and nearly any powered device can be controlled by voice command or remotely over the Internet or a home network. Each hardware kit comes with modules to control two separate powered devices, and each kit can actually control up to 16 devices just by adding some additional modules to extend your system. A total of 256 devices can be controlled with the AIVMS Home Control Interface!  A very nice feature of the X10 control module is that dimming capability is provided for lighting that had no dimming capability before.  The AIVMS PDA Client enables full control of AIVMS using your mobile handheld device, and the AIVMS PC Client provides full network control from any windows PC, so you also have a very powerful WiFi home automation remote system that can control your home lighting and appliances from anywhere in the world or from just another room in the house. The AIVMS Home Module interfaces with AIVMS Tasks, so there is a wide range of events that can trigger Home automation actions (IR remotes, time, temperature, keyboard and mouse buttons, or voice commands, and AIVMS desktop action shortcuts can control your entire home automation system).
For example, a window or attic exhaust fan can be triggered ON when the outside temperature exceeds a certain value, and OFF at a lower temperature. (no special hardware is required as AIVMS obtains its outdoor temperature data from the internet).   The cost of energy is rising rapidly with no end in site and home automation can pay for itself in a very short time.

The AIVMS infrared control module turns your AIVMS system into a universal learning remote control. The module currently supports usb-uirt hardware with v1.4 driver installed. Seamlessly integrates with the AIVMS task system.

Remap " any" infrared remote to control equipment and software it was never designed for.
Simply add an event, press a button on your remote control to learn the button, and specify the action to take place when the button is pressed.
The actions you specify for an IR event can command HD RadioPC, AIVMS Home Automation, External Phidgets Relays, AIVMS Macros and PC activities such as mouse cursor and button control, and ANY multimedia application such as Winamp, WMP, etc..

Setting remote control up is simple.  For example, the PLAY command will start playback no matter what media playback software you are currently using, so you simply map an IR remote control button of your choice to "CMD PLAY" using AIVMS tasks.  Most remotes that come with cable and sat boxes have an AUX device which you can use for PC control purposes, and the Casio IR remote control digital watch is an excellent solution.

AIVMS includes multimedia control definitions for :

  • WinAmp

  • Windows Media Player 11 (XP / Vista)

  • Media Player Classic Home Cinema

  • PowerDVD 8 Ultra

  • Vista Media Center

You can easily add any of your own multimedia applications to this list.

Create desktop action shortcuts that send IR signals and home automation commands.
AIVMS works intuitively, the same way you use your computer now;  rather than condemning you to a cumbersome front end, you simply select a folder where you have saved some AIVMS action shortcuts.  A simple click on an AIVMS desktop shortcut is all you'll ever need for full control of your home automation and AV system.  Anyone familiar with the windows desktop now has the power to control everything from an entire AV system to the lighting of a whole house simply by clicking a desktop shortcut with their mouse, a zero learning curve for family members.  Microsoft Windows operating systems  support the use of multiple simultaneous mouse control, so you can attach several inexpensive wireless mice to one PC.  Fighting over the remote control is now a thing of the past. You can map an AIVMS desktop shortcut to any IR remote control button or any keyboard key.

Control your AV system with any multi-button mouse easily by mapping IR signals to mouse buttons with AIVMS; FULL control of AV components using nothing but your mouse buttons.  Navigate a device menu like your HDTV display settings with your mouse right from your HTPC desktop, just as if they were another Windows application.  Click on an AIVMS desktop shortcut to switch your display input to a component like your DVD player or cable/sat box, and your mouse buttons automatically assume the task of IR remote control for that device. You can switch favorite channels, play, pause, rewind, skip commercials, navigate menu's, etc., using nothing but your mouse buttons.  Once you have experienced just how natural using your mouse to control your AV system is, you will likely never pick up a handheld remote control again.

AIVMS TitanTV integration enables one click viewing for any display or component with a TV tuner, and one click recording using any DVR capable cable TV or satellite TV set top box.  If you have ever used a PC tuner card that integrates with TitanTV, you can surely appreciate the control that TitanTV integration with your cable box or your display's TV tuner will provide.  You simply click on a TitanTV listing grid "watch now" icon, the channel IR signal is sent, and your display's input is switched to that used by your HDTV's tuner or your cable/sat box.  Your mouse can then automatically become the IR remote control for that device.

    The AIVMS Hostess

Voice command multimedia is another exciting feature of AIVMS; Play a song simply by saying "Queue" followed by the name of a song artist.

AIVMS multimedia streaming can be accessed and controlled from any network or internet connected PC using AIVMS client software:

Simply point-n-click on-demand streaming of multimedia files and playlists.

  •  AIVMS Intelligent Information Acquisition

    The
AIVMS IIA layer senses your internet connection status, and obtains any current information it may require in an instant.  Perfect for roaming WiFi connections, and since the IIA information packet is extremely small, even a cell phone dial-up internet connection is more than adequate.

AIVMS can monitor your email account, alert you when new messages arrive, and even read the email messages to you if desired.

If AIVMS happens to lack internal knowledge of a particular concept, it will simply extend on its existing knowledge base through internet information acquisition.  AIVMS is one of the only AI systems in existence that can enhance its own intelligence using the vast amount of data available on the internet.

AIVMS IIA will automatically use your supported GPS system to determine your current location, so weather and traffic reports are always relevant no matter where you may travel.

    AIVMS voice announced
weather reporting is available for any city in North America, and also supports most overseas locations. All information reports can be obtained either on-demand or automatically during DJ mode with user specified reporting frequency.

Traffic report information is updated every 5 minutes when the traffic report feature is activated.  An AIVMS traffic report can consist of
route travel times and average speed in addition to accident, jams, and construction incidents. Reports occur between songs unless new incidents are indicated on your route analysis.  If there are severe issues along the route, the report will typically include alternative routes to avoid delays. AIVMS currently supports traffic reporting for the following metropolitan areas:

  • Macro's For Infinite Extension Of Command Control

    AIVMS has
built-in macro support, enabling you to record any mouse or keyboard activity performed on your computer quite easily. You can then play the resulting macro once you have specified a voice command to activate it or simply click on the file you've created. Macro's can be scheduled to execute at a particular time easily using AIVMS Tasks. Any task trigger can start the macro, even an IR remote control button press.  Since 98% of all activity on a Windows system is conducted with the users mouse, one can only imagine the power that this feature will provide.

  •  Muti-Port Remote Control

AIVMS supports remote control via many different interfaces; Infrared, Serial, and TCP-IP (both wired and wireless) has been implemented.  The
AIVMS PC Client interface can control AIVMS from any Internet capable windows system in the world, and our PDA version of the AIVMS Client software transfers the unlimited power of AIVMS into the palm of your hand.  Advanced encryption and security technologies are used to ensure that your system is always safe from intrusion.
Here is a screen shot illustrating how the AIVMS PDA Client software transforms a pocket PC into a home automation remote capable of controlling the lighting and appliances in your home from anywhere in the world.

AIVMS includes magic packet WOL capability so you can wake up a another computer on your network with any AIVMS task action such as IR remote button press, desktop shortcut, scheduled time, keyboard key, or a mouse button.  If you have a WiFi capable carPC running AIVMS, it can start your home HTPC from a powered "off" state as soon as you arrive if the carPC is set to automatically attach to you home network when it reacquires its signal (a default action).

  •  User Defined Voice Commands

The AIVMS voice command editor provides an easy and intuitive method for adding or modifying voice commands in addition to those built into the AIVMS system.  User defined commands can run any program, send commands to a program via COM interface, control home automation and AV systems, and even execute a mouse/keyboard macro for the ultimate in voice control power and flexibility.
Access to the voice command editor is provided though AIVMS in-depth configuration screen. You can activate the AIVMS command editor by selecting "Settings" from the AIVMS system tray icon menu, then select "Commands" to open the voice command editior.

  •  Powerful Yet Easy To Use COM Interface

Software developers will appreciate the AIVMS COM interface which enables you to control AIVMS from your own products.  Create your own command sets for your software's menu's using the voice command editor, and simply send the screen command "SCR" along with the name of the command level you created to the "AIVMSInterface" window in order to select the level.  During manual program input, send the "SAY" command along with the menu item that was selected from your program if you wish AIVMS to pronounce the menu item selected.  AIVMS can turn any application you develop into a voice command controlled system.

Command line switches work in the same way that COM interface commands do.  For example, when AIVMS is running, executing the following at your systems run prompt will command AIVMS to speak the phrase “Hello what is your name”:

"C:\Program Files\AIVMS\AIVMS.exe" SAY Hello. What is your name?

An AIVMS alert is specified just as easily:

"C:\Program Files\AIVMS\AIVMS.exe" ALERT Security breach detected

The above command will cause the AI to email an alert message to the administrator contact announcing that a security breach has been detected.

The AIVMS help file is an all inclusive source for both program developers and everyday users.  It contains entire sections on both API usage and command line switch options.
